You know I bitch and moan about everything all the time but today I was in line at Zara, waiting to pay for my leather goods with 80% off (bless Zara sales and their leather) when the lady in front of me was very very pregnant, like “someone call the midwife ‘cus she’s about to pop” pregnant, complained that she should be attended to first. To what the pretty cashier girl said “it’s a clothes store, we’re not obliged by law to have priority lines”. And the lady continued to stand in line and wait while two other costumers proceeded to pay. Well the thing is, I thought I should say something, and I did. I said “It might not be in the law that you have to have priority lines, fine, clothes isn’t exactly a priority (I only said this to make a point, of course clothes is a priority…duh) but the fact that every single person before this very very pregnant lady didn’t let her pay before they did goes to show that these laws NEED to exist, because being nice to people isn’t a rule in this world, it’s the sad exception!”. She said thank you, and we both just stood there in line for another 5min. It’s like it’s not bad enough that she has to carry the huge belly around, and she also has to wait in line to pay for that great black trench coat and amazing crepe overalls and black leather pants! At least she’s a stylish pregnant lady, just that should be enough.
If I’m ever pregnant, I’m gonna shove people away with my huge belly and pretend it’s none of my business.
